Lesson 23

Pack week three: recap, plan, and one ask

Why it matters

Weeks one and two closed with a packet (Lessons 10 and 15). Week three adds something new: asking your followers for something directly, instead of just posting and waiting.

What you already know

You need Lesson 21 before this one: 21. Say the recap out loud.

Definitions

An ask: a clear, specific line you request from whoever is watching — not “keep supporting us,” but something concrete like “tag someone who should see this.”

Read

The week three packet has three parts: the six-sentence recap (Lesson 21) said once that week, the week's plan on paper (like in Lesson 18), and one concrete ask in at least one post.

The ask has to be specific and easy to do. “Support us” isn't an ask, it's an empty phrase. “Comment your favorite song from the night” is an ask: the person knows exactly what to do.

Don't ask for more than one thing per post. Several asks at once confuse people and nobody does any of them.

Correct example

In Saturday's post you write: “What song do you want playing next time? Comment the name.” One ask, clear, easy to do.

Wrong example

You write: “Comment, share, tag your friends, and follow us if you haven't yet.” Four asks in one sentence. Nobody knows which one to do first.

Try

Write your ask for this week in a single line, and explain why it's easy for whoever reads it to do.

Check

1. What does the week three packet contain? The six-sentence recap, the week's plan on paper, and one concrete ask.

2. Why isn't “support us” a valid ask? Because it doesn't say what exact action to take. A valid ask is specific.

3. How many asks per post? One. More than one confuses people and nobody does any of them.

What you can do now

You can assemble a complete week packet with a recap, a plan, and one clear, single ask.

Lesson 24 closes the second full social packet and points you back to the school.
