Lesson 16

What to do when the night is cancelled

Why it matters

A cancelled night is not a hole you must fill. If you invent a date or a crowd, people stop believing you. A short true notice protects trust better than a fake post.

What you already know

You come from Lessons 11 to 15: honest photo, caption, what you never film, format, and packet close. This lesson covers the case when the room does not open.

Definitions

Cancellation notice: a short message that names the event and says it will not happen.

No invented date: if there is no confirmed new date, none is published.

No covering the gap: you do not use an old photo, someone else’s face, or an invented crowd to fill the space of the cancelled post.

Once: you tell the truth once. You do not repeat the apology or ask for forgiveness forever.

Read

A cancelled night is not a hole you must fill with an old photo or a fake announcement. Tell the truth once, in few words. Do not pretend the room is still open. Do not use someone else’s face to cover the gap. If there is no new date, do not invent one. Silence after the short notice is honest.

The notice names the event, says it will not happen, and stops. It does not promise what you do not have. It does not fill the feed with material from another night so it “looks like something happened.”

Correct example

“Tonight at House X is off. When there is a new date we will say it here.” It names, tells the truth, invents nothing.

Wrong example

You post a photo from last week with the text “tonight we continue” or invent “new date Friday.” That is a lie and breaks trust.

Try

Write the notice you would post if this week’s night is cancelled this afternoon.

Check

1. What must the notice name? The event and that it will not happen.

2. What do you not invent? A new date or a crowd.

3. How many times do you say it? Once. Then silence.

4. Do you use an old photo to cover? No.

What you can do now

You can write a short cancellation notice that tells the truth once, invents no date and no crowd, and leaves silence after it.
