Lesson 14
Story vs feed post
Why it matters
A story disappears in a day. A feed post stays. If you use both formats for the same thing, you spend the material twice and confuse the people who follow you. Each format has a different job.
What you already know
You need Lessons 11, 12 and 13 before this one: honest photo, caption that follows it, and the line of what you never film. This lesson chooses the container, not the content.
Definitions
Story: format that disappears in 24 hours. It is for what is happening now, the sound of the room, the live moment.
Feed post: format that stays on the profile. It is for what you want someone to find tomorrow or next week.
Permanence: if the material should survive more than a day, it goes to the feed. If it is only for this night, it goes to the story.
Duplicating: posting the same shot and the same text in both places just because you can. That is not a decision; it is waste.
Read
Use the story for what is happening now and the feed for what you want someone to find tomorrow. Do not post the same thing in both places just because you can.
The story can hold noise, movement and an imperfect shot because it disappears. The feed asks for a cleaner photo or clip and a caption that names who and what action, because it stays. If the night is short, one story is enough. If there is a photo that honestly summarises the night, that one goes to the feed.
This lesson does not change the rules from Lesson 13. What you never film stays unfilmed, in story or in feed.
Correct example
Story: the sound of the room right now, a short shot of the table. Feed: one clean photo of who played and what happened, with a one-sentence caption. Two different jobs.
Wrong example
You upload the same 15-second video to the story and the feed with the same text. There is no format decision; only repetition.
Try
Write one sentence: what goes in the story tonight and what goes in the feed.
Check
1. What separates story and feed? Time and permanence. Story = now, 24 hours. Feed = it stays.
2. When is one story enough? When the night is short or the material only matters while it is happening.
3. What do you not do? Post the same thing in both places just because you can.
4. Do the rules from Lesson 13 change by format? No. What you never film is not filmed in either.
What you can do now
You can choose story or feed according to time and permanence, and reject automatic duplication of the same material.

Lesson 15 closes the week-two packet: photo, caption, format and one silent day.
